In this post, we will show you how to lock Outlook for iPad with Touch ID or Face ID. Even if you are using an iPhone, you can follow this tutorial. Outlook is a very convenient email client that you can use to access any email service. If you have an email ID with Outlook, Gmail, etc, you can use it in the Outlook app for iPhone and iPad.
It is possible to lock down your Outlook app with the help of fingerprint (Touch ID) or Face ID. But before you can do this, you need to enable either of these features on your Apple device.
How to lock Outlook for iPad with Touch ID or Face ID
To lock Outlook for iPad or iPhone with Touch ID or Face ID, follow these steps-
- Verify that Touch ID or Face ID is enabled on your device.
- Open Outlook app and go to Settings.
- Scroll down to the Preferences section.
- Toggle the Require Touch ID button.
First, make sure that the Touch ID or Facebook is enabled on your device. If not, you can open the Settings app and go to the Touch ID & Passcode option. After that, tap on the Add a Fingerprint option, and follow the screen instructions to get it added. If your device doesn't have Touch ID support, you can add Face ID. For that, you can find similar options in the Settings app.
Once it is added successfully, you can open the Outlook app and tap on the Home button visible before the Inbox text. Alternatively, you can swipe from left to right to expand the menu. Following that, tap on the Settings gear button.
Now, scroll down to the bottom until you get the Preferences section. Here you can find an option called Require Touch ID. Toggle the corresponding button to enable it.
You will see Face ID instead of Touch ID if you are using an iPad Pro. After turning it on, you will find the following screen whenever you will open the Outlook app.
