How to run Office Starter on Windows 8

If you already have a Windows 7 PC that came along with Office Starter 2010 installed, and you would like to use it after you upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 8, you will have to UPGRADE it to its latest version first, before you upgrade your Windows, says KB2742694.

To do so, you will have to first download and install this Microsoft Office Click-to-Run 2010 update.

The fully-featured, updated versions of Microsoft Office 2010, such as Office Home and Student 2010, Home and Business 2010, and Professional 2010, do not have any compatibility issues with Windows 8; it is only the Starter edition that you will have to upgrade first, before upgrading to Windows 8.
