Show or Hide OneDrive Images and Images from Private folder in Photos App

Photos App in Windows 10 by default, display all the images located in different folders on a PC. While this appears a handy option for some, some may not like it. If you wish, you can configure the app to not display pictures under any particular folder. You can also make it show or hide OneDrive images as well. Let us see how to add or remove folders from the Photos app.

Exclude or Hide Images from a particular folder

If you would not like pictures from a particular folder to be displayed by the  'Photos App' then, launch the Photos app and choose 'Settings' from Photos App Menu.

Next, under 'Sources' heading simply choose a folder whose images you would not like to be displayed under 'Photos App' and hit the 'x' button to put a mark against it.

Stop Photos app from showing OneDrive images

If you are using a Microsoft Account account to login Windows 10, then the Photos App, by default, displays all images saved to OneDrive account and residing elsewhere on your PC. But you can change this and make it not display the OneDrive images.

To do this, launch Windows 10 Photos app. Choose the Menu (visible as 3 dots) and select Settings.

Next, move to the Microsoft OneDrive section and turn off 'Show my cloud-only content from OneDrive' account option as shown in the screenshot to stop the Photos app from showing your images from OneDrive.

Alternatively, if you are using a Local user account on Windows 10, you can configure Photos App to showcase OneDrive pictures. For this,

Simply, open the Photos app, go to Settings and in the Microsoft OneDrive section, move the slider to enable 'Show my cloud-only content from OneDrive account' option. Instantly, the OneDrive sign-in dialog will pop up.

Enter your OneDrive sign-in details and hit the sign-in option.

Finally, select if you would want to see images from OneDrive pictures folder or all folders in your OneDrive account. The page, in addition to the images, will display the currently used space and the total amount of space available in your OneDrive account.
